I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
