Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
