The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
