Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
