Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
