Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
