The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
