He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fearfully, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruits and fodder 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
