The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
