And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed it would have been different. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely upon the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned. 227
