Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
