The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
