Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hoarding (Al-Takaathur) before The Disbelievers (Al-Kaaferoon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who gives the lie to all moral law? 1 It is he who pushes the orphan away, 2 And does not urge to feed the needy. 3 Woe, therefore, unto such performers of prayer. 4 whose hearts from their prayer are remote 5 Who do (good) to be seen, 6 And refuse Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses e.g. salt, sugar, water, etc.). 7
