It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 and by virtue of which He causes crops and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit to grow for you. Surely in this there is a great Sign for those who reflect. 11 He has subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. Surely there are Signs in this for those who use their reason. 12 And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way, 15 As well as many other signs, as by the stars (you) find direction. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 And if you would count the graces of Allah, never could you be able to count them. Truly! Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 they are dead, not living, and they do not [even] know when they will be raised from the dead! 21
