'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 Leave them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
