The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
