Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
