I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
