And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
