Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and the smooth runners 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgement?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
