Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
