Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then I called them openly, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
