The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
