And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 Said Lot: "These are my guests; do not put me to shame, 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
