Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, and remember Allah much, and reply back (in poetry) to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims). And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
Almighty Allah's Truth.
