Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
