The Thamud rejected the warnings, 23 For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient! 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Every drinking will be witnessed. 28 But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 Verily We! We sent upon them a gravel-storm save the household of Lut; them We delivered at early dawn. 34 As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 “So taste My punishment, and My warnings!” 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40
