The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and shade extended, 30 and flowing water 31 and fruit abounding, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And carpets raised. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
