Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
