Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
