Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 until an appointed time? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
