Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
