Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
