Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say, "It has been revealed to me that a band of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, "We have heard a really wonderful recital, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
