Never will you attain to righteousness unless you spend for the cause of God out of what you cherish; and whatever you spend is known to God. 92 ۞ All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel had made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed. Say, [O Muhammad], "So bring the Torah and recite it, if you should be truthful." 93 And whoever invents about Allah untruth after that - then those are [truly] the wrongdoers. 94 Say thou: Allah hath spoken the truth; follow therefore the faith of Ibrahim the upright; and he was not of the associators. 95 Verily the first House set apart unto mankind was that at Bakka, blest, and a guidance unto the worlds. 96 In it there are clear signs and the station of Abraham; whoever enters it becomes secure. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty owed to Allah by all who can make their way to it. As for those who refuse to follow His command, surely Allah does not stand in need of anything. 97 SAY: "O followers of earlier revelation! Why do you refuse to acknowledge the truth of God's messages, when God is witness to all that you do?" 98 Say: O followers of the Book! why do you hinder him who believes from the way of Allah? You seek (to make) it crooked, while you are witness, and Allah is not heedless of what you do. 99 O Ye who believe! were ye to obey any party amongst those that have been vouchsafed the Book, they would, after your having believed, render you Infidels. 100 How could you turn back to disbelief when the words of God are recited to you and you have in your midst His Messenger? Those who seek the protection of God will certainly be guided to the right path. 101
