Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the midday brightness 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
