And remember Our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)! 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people who rushed headlong [into sin] with you? No welcome to them! Verily, they [too] shall have to endure the fire!" 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
