Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
