The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
