۞ Now We have brought them the Word; haply they may remember. 51 (Some of) the followers of the Bible believe in the Quran. 52 And when it is recited to them they say: We believe in it surely it is the truth from our Lord; surely we were submitters before this. 53 These will receive double reward for their forbearance, replacing evil by virtue, and for their spending for the cause of God. 54 and when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say, "We have our actions and you have yours. We wish you peace. We will have nothing to do with the ignorant." 55 You cannot guide whom you please; it is Allah who guides whom He will. He knows well those who are guided. 56 And they say: were we to follow the guidance with thee, we shall be snatched away from our land. Have We not established for them an inviolable sanctuary whereunto fruits of every sort are brought: a provision from Our presence? But most of them know not. 57 And how many a town (population) have We destroyed, which were thankless for its means of livelihood (disobeyed Allah, and His Messengers, by doing evil deeds and crimes)! And those are their dwellings, which have not been inhabited after them except a little. And verily! We have been the inheritors. 58 Your Lord would never destroy a people until He had sent messengers to their capital cities, reciting to them Our revelations. Nor did We destroy a town unless their people became wrongdoers. 59 And whatever you have been given is an enjoyment of the life of (this) world and its adornment, and that (Hereafter) which is with Allah is better and will remain forever. Have you then no sense? 60
