Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 Who created the seven skies one above the other. Do you see any disproportion in the creations of Ar-Rahman? Turn your eyes again. Do you see any fissures? 3 Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" 8 'Yes, indeed' they will reply, 'but we belied the Warner (Messenger) saying: 'Allah has not sent down anything, you are but in great error' 9 And they will say: had we been wont to hearken or to reflect, we had not been among the fellows of the Blaze. 10 They will then confess their sins: but far will be (Forgiveness) from the Companions of the Blazing Fire! 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
