The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
