Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
