The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
