[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
