Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
