Al-A 'araaf 14 of 24
Said the Council of the people of Pharaoh, 'Surely this man is a cunning sorcerer 109 Who would expel you from your land. Now what do ye advise? 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 “To bring all the expert magicians to you.” 112 And the magicians came to Firaun, and said, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said, 'Moses, wilt thou cast, or shall we be the casters?' 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ Thus the truth prevailed, and that which they had brought vanished. 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Said Pharaoh, "You believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a conspiracy which you conspired in the city to expel therefrom its people. But you are going to know. 123 Surely I shall have your hands and feet cut off upon alternate sides. Then I shall crucify you every one. 124 They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 125 for thou takest vengeance on us only because we have come to believe in our Sustainer's messages as soon as they came to us. O our Sustainer! Shower us with patience in adversity, and make us die as men who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!" 126

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
