Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

HaMeem. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
