Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
