The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
